As we move into a post-pandemic world, the way that people interact has changed. Physical proximity has become optional when it comes to building friendships and relationships. Now that people are no longer tied to a single physical office as their place of work, a great migration of workers has caused communities to spread all over the world.

Despite all of this flexibility and mobility, it is still hard to connect with people over a distance. It is impossible to convey all of the social cues that we are used to as humans via video alone. What’s more, even the best video conferencing struggles to allow multiple people to have multiple conversations within a group. The concept of “mingling” or having a dynamic set of possible interactions across a large group of people is the key to forming and maintaining distributed communities. Canopy solves all of these problems.
